Day 19 - Start the Long Journey Home

06:10am  OgodOGodOGod. Alarm call. Seriously out of breath but didn't stub toe on anything.
Lay palpitating whilst everyone else managed to get up and showered. Mary made a cup of tea - good for shock.

Leave on OUR terms!  7:00am - All ready - last minute checks - downstairs with flunky to load taxi and check out. Mary argued her point quite forcefully and we ended up just paying for the local calls (ie not the $15+GST for crockery).

Taxi took 20 minutes or so - Granville St goes all the way from Downtown to the airport - impressive. Checked in and got our window seats organised. All the ladies fears about weight limits were groundless - we were well under at 67Kg. Bit of breakfast - drinks and sticky buns. Now the wait.

Last minute shopping  We can pay the 'export duties' by Visa at a machine. Leaves us free to spend the last of our dollars. Not much to spend it on now we are in the airport tho! Mary got some pens with Indian designs and a 3 pack of Maple Syrup for gifts. Then it was Visa for the 'improvement tax' and thru the bomb detectors. Lady spoke to Mary in Japanese because she forgot - everyone else laughed but she looked mortified! Magazines and drinks whilst waiting for plane then aboard - last block of passengers like last time, but we had room to stow our baggage in the racks therefore we had room for our feet!

The flight back  Mary had the window seat, then Lucy, then Katie. I was Billy No Mates over the corridor. At the other end of my row was a mum with a small baby - lots of fun there. By the end of the flight the man next to here had wine stains, coffee stains and a wet leg. Throughout it was all good humoured. Each time the baby got frazzled, mum breast fed and it fell asleep. No problem.

A Minor Mishap  Tragedy though! Halfway through The Wedding Singer the film stopped - never to return. 100's of people sitting there with earphones on going "ORRR that's not fair". Later Man in the Iron Mask came on again so I finished my book. Mary had great views of Canada/Forest Fires/Greenland/Manchester's Lights etc.

When we finally disembarked (or deplaned) it was . . . . . . . . . . . . .
